Comparison of Pebble’s three metal-housed watches: Original Steel, Time Steel, and new Round Comparison: , Pebble Time Steel(this product), and (Pictured below: Original with black band, Time Steel in yellow gold w/red band and Round in rose gold w/pearl white band)I have access to all three Pebbles: I own the Time Steel and the new Round and my roommate has the Original, so I’m comparing them here:Look and Feel: The Pebble Round looks most like a watch, coming in at just smaller than the Timex Weekender. It’s really light and comfortable, no heavier than a Swatch. There’s a cool, chunky retro feel to the Original Steel, but it’s too big for my wrist. The Time Steel FELT slick and small until the Round came along! I can still dig the Time Steel for its nerdy-cool look, though. The Original Steel…

Pretty dang awesome wearable So I spent quite a bit of time evaluating a couple different “wearable devices”: (1) The black stainless steel Apple Watch, (2) The Pebble Time, and now finally (3) the Pebble Time Steel. Given the fact that my wife works for Apple, I of course had to try out the latest and greatest watch, figuring that I’d try “the best watch” available for an iPhone 6. After wearing it for a month, I got a feel for what I wanted in a wearable device in regards to my lifestyle. Unfortunately for Apple, it was not with the Apple Watch. Here is what was missing for me:- Battery life- The use of the accelerometer to turn on/off the display actually was buggy for how I used it- Officially not waterproof…unofficially it is!- It was heavy with the metal bandSo I ended up switching it to the Pebble Time and now the Pebble Time Steel. I’ve gotta say that the Pebble shined after our 1-week family trip to Hawaii. Even my wife who uses an Apple…

Works great with my iPhone 6+ I love my Pebble Time Steel! I originally purchased a regular Pebble Steel but quickly realized that it’s really annoying to receive the notifications and not be able to reply to them. I purchased the Pebble Time Steel to solve that problem and haven’t regretted the purchase yet.Features I use most:- Voice Reply: My biggest gripe was not being able to reply on the Pebble Steel. Pebble has now partnered with AT&T so that iPhone users on the carrier can use the reply functionality to reply to texts. Previously, only Android users could do this since Apple’s iOS software does not allow Pebble access to send messages. This workaround through AT&T is a huge win for qualified users (AT&T post paid accounts) and it sounds like Pebble is working with other carriers to allow them similar functionality. I now have the ability to receive a text message on my watch, speak a voice reply, and it gets translated to text for me to review before sending. The voice translation…
